Hello, my name is George.

I was born and raised in Takayama, and I still live here today. I am a licensed local guide in the Hida region.

My tours are relaxed, friendly, and flexible. I mainly guide visitors around Takayama and Shirakawa-go. I like showing not only famous places such as the old town, morning markets, temples, shrines, sake breweries, and Shirakawa-go, but also quiet streets and local daily life.

Takayama is a small mountain town with a long history, beautiful traditions, and a calm local atmosphere. I enjoy sharing simple stories about the town, local culture, festivals, food, sake, and the way people live here.
