Self-introduction

I work as the business manager of the Shinpi Trail, a long-distance trail connecting Matsumoto in Nagano Prefecture and Takayama in Gifu Prefecture, while also working as a mountain guide mainly in the Matsumoto, Kamikochi, and Hida-Takayama areas. I enjoy trail running and hiking, and I have walked long trails not only in Japan but also overseas.

What I find most fascinating is how walking allows people to deeply understand a region. Beyond the mountains and nature, I believe that old roads, post routes, castle towns, water, and local lifestyles become more visible and meaningful at a walking pace.

As a guide, I prioritize safety while helping guests understand why these landscapes and cultures exist by connecting topics such as the formation of the Japanese Alps, vegetation zones, Japanese mountaineering history, historic trail culture, and local ways of life. Rather than simply showing sightseeing spots, I aim to create experiences that help people feel a genuine connection with the land and its stories.
